PhilnLeah Christmas 2002

Welcome to the 3rd annual PhilnLeah Christmas card. This year has not been as exciting (hectic?) as prior years. Initially, I feared that this fact would make this year's card difficult to write. On the other hand, I suppose that having nothing to write home about is, in itself, something to write home about. Or, at the very least, it's written my introduction.

Faith

Our good friends, Katie and Red, had a baby this year, and we have been happy to monopolize their time to let us play with Faith. She is truly an amazing little girl.
Leah has taken so many pictures of Faith and posted them to our web site that some of my more distant friends have assumed that Faith is, in fact, our child.

Houseguest

My sister, Carissa, visited us for the Summer. She was pretty busy, spending most of her time working at Babe Ruth, going to the gym, visiting Evan, or have adventures with the Oldsmobile somewhere in between. Nevertheless, I managed to squeeze a number good dinners out of her, and she humored me by going to the $3.50 Tuesday night movie when Leah was out of town.
I didn't have an appropriate picture to display here, so I found a book on the subject. ("Tintin en Amerique" is French for "Carissa in Plainsboro")

Dogs

Rosencrantz and Guildenstern have been doing well, and, like us, seem to be comfortable settling into their adult lives. Although, I fancy ourselves not quite so set in our ways (this picture is nearly indistinguishable from last year's).

Leah

Leah has been working with her latest client, TTX, for the whole year. She's traveled to Chicago 26 weeks out of the year for the project, so she's doing quite well in the frequent flyer miles department. She likes Chicago as a city, though I must admit that I do not share exactly the same opinion; of course my reasoning could be running awry due to the fact that I am still thawing from my single trip out there this year.
Leah was promoted this December, and, in the new year, will be working as the technical lead on a new Pegasus installation for CSX.

Phil

I followed Leah to Princeton Consultants early this year, and have been happily employed there since. For most of the year, I worked on a Java-based web plan administration system for ICMG. In the last two months, though, I have been working on some neat-o press schedule optimization technology for R.R. Donnelley & Sons.

Nothing Much

This is my section used to celebrate nothing; or perhaps more correctly, time for reflection.
This is a recent picture of our development. When it gets cold, I can call that bit of frozen water a "glistening creek", which is much better than its usual name, "drainage ditch". Ah well, there's something to be said for beauty, even if it is only skin deep.

Now that we've had some time to reflect, it's time to turn away and live some new moments. Thank you for your willingness to take part in those experiences yet to come.

Happy Holidays,

Phil and Leah Schanely
