PhilnLeah Christmas 2003

Welcome to the 4th annual PhilnLeah Christmas card. Yet another year has whizzed by us so quickly that the doppler effect has shifted its frequency above the capabilities of our hearing. Luckily, I've been able to reconstruct this Christmas card from the wake.

Jacksonville, FL

Leah and I were placed on the same project (CSX) this year, which involved moving to Jacksonville for 3 months in the Summer. The image to the left here looks deceptively exciting -- it was pulled from some propaganda which I suspect was spawned by the entirely unsuccessful Jacksonville board of tourism. (for those of you who are unaquainted, Jacksonville is distinguished by heat, suburban life, and, above all, by not having distinguishing characteristics)

Tahiti

Leah and I got an opportunity to visit French Polynesia on a cruise ship in early December. The islands there are the most incredible things that I have ever seen.
Leah took way too many awesome pictures on this trip to show here; click here for some jealousy-on-demand.

Dogs

The dog-couch picture is now something of a tradition. Here is this year's. It is also traditional for me to link to last year's card so that you can compare them for yourself. You'll notice that this year, they have settled into a more conservative haircut and are rather less attentive. Could it be that they are mellowing in their old age?
I hope so.
I should also mention that the dogs survived the road trips to Jacksonville and back, and managed to not get eaten by any alligators during their stay.

Professional

Both Leah and I worked on the CSX project for most of this year. Next year, Leah will be working as the systems integrator for a different (and enormous) CSX project. She will need to be traveling weekly to Jacksonville, so I am preparing for a little bit of a rough ride.

As for me, I will likely be pulled for the full R.R. Donnelley project, if we get it. I would welcome the new work -- I think that I am tiring of Pegasus projects.

Well that's the news from Plainsboro. Leah and I both hope to hear that your years have been as agreeable as ours. Incidentally, if your year was more agreeable than ours, we don't want to hear about it -- just go back to your champagne bubblebath, you hoser.

Best wishes for a safe and happy holiday,

Phil and Leah Schanely
