Welcome to the 6th annual PhilnLeah Christmas card. I am especially pleased to write this card, as there are so very many things to write about. Also, new this year are online video clips. Take care, though; they are 10-15 MB each, so don't click those video links on a dialup connection! |

Vivian Roe SchanelyLittle Vivi has won the prize for most exciting news of the year, as our first child. Leah and I adore her immensely. As an added benefit, Vivi has finally settled an 8 year argument between Leah and myself regarding who the cute one is. Look at the pictures -- there really is no contest. Click here for a video clip of Vivi looking around, sneezing 3 times, and taking a big yawn. I was going to post a clip of myself doing the same, but Leah talked me out of it. And here is another video clip starring Vivi. In this episode, Vivi's alluring dancing captures the attention of Guildy and his limitless saliva supply. The bottom two pictures are of Vivi celebrating Halloween and Christmas. |

ViviansVivi gets her lovely name from her great grandmother, who passed away shortly after Vivi's birth. I can not accurately put into words how much our lives have been and will be altered by her absence. Take care, Mom mom, and know that all of us love you very much. This treasured picture shows our four generations of beautiful girls. |

New HouseLeah and I moved into our new house this year. The picture on the left is a wintery view of our back yard. Our local post office is getting changed, so even if you've gotten our new address, you'll need to update it with the one below (effective January 26th): 15 Hope Drive Millstone Township, NJ 08510 (732) 252-8027 |

VacationsThe top two pictures are from our trip in the beginning of the year to Hawaii. Top left is at a lookout point in Oahu, and the right is on the famous Na Pali trail which skirts along the Northern cliffs of Kuai'i. The bottom two pictures are from a trip to Greece. Bottom left is the village of Ia in Santorini and bottom right is the Parthanon in Athens. |

FriendsKatie and Red had another child this year -- Jack is a big happy boy. The picture on the left is from his christening. Also in the picture are Jack's sisters, Faith and Abbie. Mike, our good friend from college, was married this year to a kick-ass woman named Maria, who we got the opportunity to meet even before the wedding on a trip to Chicago. You can watch the video of us enjoying one of the major attractions of the wedding -- a private MoonBounce. About half way through the clip, you can hear Leah exclaim "What the hell is Phil doing?" Don't ask me; I don't know. |

Dogs (and Vivi)Rosencrantz and Guildenstern seem to enjoy the new house and new company. As you can see, Vivi has made a guest appearance in this year's dog-couch picture. She is clearly the runt of the pack, sitting farthest from the coveted arm rest. |

ProfessionalLeah has continued her work with the CSX dispatching team this year, and I have primarily worked on another Pegasus installation. With the addition of Vivi, our business travel must be more carefully scheduled, but I am confident that it'll be workable. |
Well, that about sums up the year. On second thought, it really doesn't. Adding up what's here would give you approximately 37 and two thirds, but the whole year is conservatively over seven hundred. The problem is that I'm not expected to write about the ordinary stuff. For instance, just today I took out the trash (0.6), dug a hole in which to plant our first live Christmas tree (1.2), and watched Vivi smile (3.0). In such a high scoring year, I was hoping to invest some of the events in a deferred compensation plan and pull them out next year for optimal taxation. Apparently no such thing exists.
Wishing you a very happy holiday,
Phil, Leah, and Vivian Schanely
